Policy Committee

The Policy Committee is dedicated to researching, developing, and advocating for progressive policies that align with our values as young Democrats. Members of this committee analyze local and state issues, track legislative developments, and craft policy positions that guide our organization’s advocacy efforts. Whether you're passionate about voting rights, climate justice, education, or economic equity, the Policy Committee is the space to dive deeper into the issues and make a real impact.

What We Do:
✅ Track legislation at the local and state levels
✅ Research policy issues that affect young people in Maricopa County
✅ Draft policy proposals and statements for MCYD
✅ Organize educational events, panels, and advocacy opportunities

An Executive Board member chairs each committee, but we are looking for co-chairs to help manage the committee’s work, support delegation, and ensure smooth operations. Co-chairs assist in leading discussions, coordinating research, organizing events, and helping drive policy initiatives forward.
